GDSL type lipases are an important superfamily of lipases which play important roles in abiotic stress, pathogen defense, seed development and lipid metabolism.Overexpression of endogenous BnGLIP has not significant effect on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum resistance in Brassica napus L, while overexpression of an Arabidopsis GDSL lipase AtGLIP in Brassica napus enhanced Sclerotinia-resistance significantly.In addition, NMR analysis revealed that seeds oil content of both BnGLIP and AtGLIP overexpressed plants decreased compared with wild type.These results suggest that both AtGLIP and BnGLIP played an important biological function and the exogenous AtGLIP gain more biological functions, especially in the role of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum resistance in oilseed rape.
