ITK and VTK are both popularly software toolkit for the medical image processing and analysis.They are open sources,libraries of ITK and VTK can be used or developed.In this paper,clinical MRI volumetric data sets are processed to extract the blood vessel of brain by ITK and VTK.This investigation goes through firstly the smoothing filter of ITK to de-noise.The algorithms of regional growth are secondly utilized to complete the 3D segmentation,and the integrated approach of ITK and VTK is finally to realize the cerebrovascular reconstruction.The results of the experiment show that ITK and VTK may be applied to aid the diagnosis of cerebrovascular disease.
