Hepatitis B infection is a major etiology of acute and chronic hepatitis,cirrhosis,and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in Korea,suggesting that HBV infection greatly affects public health of Korea.Currently,hepatitis B infection is currently classified as one of the groups of infectious disease designated by law and is addressed by national vaccination programs in Korea.
