The encysted gastrula of Artemia (Crustacea, Anostraca) is one of the quintessential models to study diapause. With rehydrating and hatching experiments on diapaused cysts of Artemia, we found the two species, A.tibetiana and A.sinica, both with a longer delay of post-diapause developments than A.franciscana.For better understanding the reactivation of mitochondria in post-diapause development of Artemia encysted embryos, we sequenced the mitochondrial genome of A.sinica with the method of direct sequencing of PCR product, compared the consistent sequence with A.tibetiana, A.urmiana and A.franciscana, and built a phylogeny tree with neighbor-joining algorithm based on their whole mitochondrial genomes.
