Prolonged cold storage is often used for keeping peach fruit but can cause physiological disorders producing symptoms of chilling injury (CI).Low temperature conditioning (LTC)alleviates CI of peach fruit but the underlying molecular basis is poorly understood.Here, changes in flesh softening, ethylene production, internal browning (IB), membrane lipids, as well as transcriptome, were compared between fruit in constant cold (CC, 0℃) and LTC (pre-storage at 8℃ for 5 days before storage at 0℃).
