The significance ofhistopathology in determining the prognosis and selection of treatment for breast cancer patients clearly emerges from a large number of reports on the subject in recent years.The histologic proven prognostic factors include tumor size, tumor type, tumor grading, vascular invasion, tumor necrosis and the lymphnode status.Further prognostic factors are among others steroid hormone receptor status, the proliferation markers, the epithelial growth factor receptor, c-erb-B2-oncogene and proteases.
