Background:Ursolic acid is a important functional food material.It is important to determination of ursolic acid from prunella vulgaris.Ultra high pressure extraction (UHPE) was used to prepare the sample.With yield of ursolic acid as index,The effect of ethanol concentration,UHPE pressure,UHEP time,and the ratio of solid to liquid was studied.The extracts were then analysis by high-performance liquid chromatographic(HPLC) method.Optimum extraction conditions were as follows:95%ethanol(w/w) UHPE pressure 300MPa,UHPE time3min,stock ratio 1∶10(g∶mL).For HPLC analysis,the calibration plot was linear (R2=0.9991) in the concentration range 200 ~ 1000 μg/mL for ursolic acid,The method was precise with relative standard deviation for ursolic acid range between 1.20 ~ 2.35%.The recovery of this method were between 98.5 ~101.5%.The method could be used as a practical technique for detect ursolic acid in prunella vulgaris for it was samples rapid,simple,sensitive,convenient.
