In this study an attempt has been made to incorporate the effect of actual pre-buckled stress distribution on the stability of laminated plates under uniform compressive load. For this a finite element based linearized buckling formulation is developed.First, a linear elasticity problem is solved to obtain the actual stress distribution which is used to form geometric stiffness matrix for the eigenvalue analysis.
