Lipoxygenases (LOXs) play an important role in the production synthesis of volatile compounds, which influence the aroma of fruit.Eighteen CmLOXs have been identified in the melon genome and the expression level of CmLOX18 mRNA was upregulated during fruit ripening using real-time qPCR In oriental melon.In order to better understand the role of CmLOX18 in the biosynthesis of C6 volatiles during fruit ripening, we analyzed the function of the gene using transgenic tomato following identifying the biochemical characterization and subcellular localization of CmLOX18.
