Wide bandgap materials are abundant in nature,where they form a considerable portion of planetary compositions,as well as in manmade applications,where they can possess dcsirable properties such as ultra-high hardness,refractory behavior,and high thennal or electronic insulation.As sllch,the ability to efficiently heat wide bandgap materials in a diamond anvil cell is crucial to the high pressure community.
