2型猪链球菌(SS2)是一种重要的人畜共患病原体,呈全球性分布,不仅给养猪业造成巨大经济损失,而且对相关从业人员的健康亦构成严重威胁,己成为重要的新发传染病病原菌.我国1998年江苏省和2005年四川省暴发两起SS2大规模感染人的公共卫生事件,共导致了240人感染,52人死亡,所致链球菌中毒性休克综合征(STSS)为致死率极高的人类新现传染病.我们对两次流行的菌株进行了全基因组测序和比较基因组学分析,发现它们均携带一个特征性的毒力岛,命名为89K.
