Tungsten(W)is chosen as the leading candidate for plasma facing material(PFM)in fusion devices. However,W has several disadvantages, such as high ductile–brittle transition temperature(DBTT)and recrystallization brittleness.Adding a certain amount of tantalum(Ta)into W is expected to increase ductility and reduce DBTT.In this work, effects of Ta concentration on the microstructures and mechanical properties of W-Ta alloys are studied.
