The oriental fruit fly,known as Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel,belongs to the B.dorsalis complex,is one of the most important quarantine pests in the world,attacks over 46 families and 250 species fruits and vegetables.It was usually outbreak of disaster because the multiple mating behavior in B.dorsalis male and female adults,and caused serious economic damage to many commercially important tropical and subtropical crops,especially fruits.The parapheromone,methyl eugenol(ME)(3,4 dimethoxyalyl benzene),occurring in a variety of plant species,has been widely and effectively used to detect,control,and eradicate male B.dorsalis populations worldwide,which is the current significant control strategy.
