The field-free orientation induced by a single-cycle terahertz (THz) laser pulse [1, 2] is studied for the "heavy" molecule, NaI.Two methods arc used and compared in the calculations:One is to solve the exact time-dependent Schr(o)dinger equation (ETDSE) considering the full-rovibrational degrees of freedom [3], and the other is to invoke the rigid-rotor approximation (RRA).
