Diets containing 0.5-0.7% phosphorus (P) (dry matter basis) is common in Chinese dairy farms.Researchers indicated that 0.33- 0.65% dietary P appear adequate for moderate to high producing cow,and phosphorus intake is strongly correlated to P excretion of dairy cattle.Over feeding of P decreased the P utilization and excessive P excretion in feces increased the risk of environmental damage through eutrophication of lakes and streams.
