  Our previous reseach show that Andrographolide (AP) has a protection on rats myocardial hypertrophy induced by isopropylarterenol (Iso), while its mechanisms about balance of vasoactive substance are not clear.In order to explore it, we used rats myocardial hypertrophy model induced by Iso, and administrated the rats with various doses ofAP, DMSO or NS through hypodermic injection.The activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum and myocardium tissue, the level of NO in serum, and the content of angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ), endothelin (ET) and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP)in plasma were investigated.Iso group showed a change about activity of LDH which was increased in serum but decreased in myocardium tissue, a descended level of NO in serum, improved content ofAng Ⅱ and ET while reduced content of ANP in plasma.However, these changes were reversed after the rats treated with AP These results suggest that AP has a protection on rats myocardial hypertrophy caused by Iso,and its mechanism probably result of modulating the homeostasis ofAng Ⅱ, ANP, ET and NO.
