Sulfur species originated from ocean make new particles to increase the number of cloud condensation nuclei and change properties of cloud.However,in the planetary boundary layer,there are many sea-salt particles that provide surfaces for heterogeneous chemical reactions with SO2.It is important to know aerosol vertical profile in the lower troposphere for the process study of aerosol generation,transport,or aging.We measured the vertical profile every 2 or 3 degrees in latitude from the equator to 34 N along the 165E line on the R/V Mirai (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology) during the MR04-7 cruise.
