By using the Supercritical Antisolvent (SAS) process,micron-sized particles of dextran, which has recently been focused as one of the promising materials for the Drug Delivery System (DDS)[1,2],In the experiments, solution of dextran in dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO) was injected through a small bored-nozzle into the recrystallizer pre-filled with the supercritical carbon dioxide, which played a role of the antisolvent leading to formation of particles.
