Inactive electrode components,such as current collectors,binders and conductive additives play an important,very often under-rated influence on the active material performance in the composite electrode.It is not difficult at all to mask a good active material by improper selection or processing of inactive materials and thus achieving only bad electrode performance.In particular novel electrode materials need very often careful adjustment and sometimes even also novel inactive electrode components.
