Transverse-tubule (TT) is the invaginations of cell membrane in cardiac myocytes.Coupled TT-sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) is the structural basis for excitation-contraction coupling (ECC)in heart ceils.In failing heart cells, the structural remodeling of TT system leads to defective ECC, so exploring the molecular mechanism underlying the morphogenesis and maintenance of TT system is important.
