In cyanobacteria and higher plants, the plastidial NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (NDH) complex reduces plastoquinones and drives the cyclic electron flow (CEF) around photosystem I (PSI).It also produces extra ATP for photosynthesis and improves the fitness to abiotic environmental stress.Some of subunits, such as NDH-B, are unique to NDH complex and contribute to the assembly and accumulation of whole NDH complex.Some traits of photosynthetic responses to salinity resistance have been transferred into the somatic hybrid descendants including S111-9 from the wild soybean ACC547 (Glycine cyrtoloba).So, we used S111-9 for detailed analysis of the salt tolerant mechanism in this study.
