  Polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHA),as a family of biodegradable and biocompatible thermal polyesters with diverse structures,are intracellularly accumulated as inclusion bodies in many bacteria.To exploit bacteria as effective factories for PHA production,a faster replication process is needed for more inclusion body accumulation.In this work,the division way of Escherichia coli was changed by deleting minC and minD genes together.The Z rings can form at both polar and middle positions since the min system had been disrupted,and bacterial can divided into more than two daughter cells at same time.For the further improvement of cell growth rate,some genes related with the formation of Z ring such as ftsQ,-W,-N,-L,and ftsZ,together with the cell shape control gene mreB,were all overexpressed in the E.coli JM109 ΔminCD.As a result,cell dry weights(CDW)was enhanced and more than 80%increases on poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)(PHB)contents was achieved compared with its control strain under same conditions.
