The contents of characteristic secondary metabolites vary obviously during the shoot development,which play an important role in tea quality and flavor.Approximate 20Gb of Illumina RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) clean reads were obtained from fresh leaves in two different stages of shoot development including single-bud and three leaves and a bud,and further assembled into 97,454 unigenes,with an N50 of 1,748 bp.
