  The aim of the research was to develop a set of optimal designs of EPC for solar hot water system in a certain university.To determine the development prospects of EPC, a survey from 11 universities using EPC was conducted.Devices modelling and sizing with optimum matching parameters were conducted.5 different types of boilers were demonstrated in this survey with contrasting capacities of energy-saving.The study revealed that the solar energy showed the highest saving efficiency.Results showed that, everyday use for 10,000 students requires a plate solar collector with 7722m2 area.The exertion of technologies for the hot water could decrease the consumption of coal (3048 kg/d) and reduce the emission of CO2 (7595kg/d), CO (149kg/d), SO2 (10kg/d), nitrogen-oxygen compounds (13.75kg/d) and ash (881kg/d.Hence the research provides an initial guide for a low carbon campus buildings.
