Rechargeable Li-air batteries, in which the reversible reaction of Li + O2 (-) Li2O2 is taking place, are capturing worldwide attention because of their extremely high theoretical specific energy.However, a critical issue is the intrinsic sluggish kinetics of reversible electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction and oxygen evolution reaction (ORR/OER), giving rise to large polarization, high overpotential, poor reversibility and thus low energy efficiency.
