Nature has used brush like soft matters and hydration lubrication to achieve ultra-low friction even at high Herzian pressure, such as in articular cartilage.Inspired by this, people have used polymer brushes and hydrogels to mimic natural aqueous lubricating systems.Inspired by the structure of articular cartilage, we have used chemically grafted ionic polymer brushes on solid surface for the simulation.
