  This paper conducts a comprehensive study between single-camera Light Field Particle Image Velocimetry(LF-PIV)and multi-camera Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry(Tomo-PIV).The dense ray tracing based MART(DRT-MART)reconstruction technique is taken for LF-PIV.Experimental studies were then conducted by simultaneously measuring low-speed jet flow with a sing-camera LF-PIV and a four-camera Tomo-PIV systems.It reveals that given sufficiently high pixel resolution,the sing-camera LF-PIV measures a higher resolution volumetric velocity field than the four camera Tomo-PIV.LF-PIV is then applied in the experimental study of a free circular air jet at high Reynolds number(Re≈45,000)to confirm the feasibility in applying LFPIV to the 3D quantitative measurement of a high Reynolds number flow.
