  Catalysts prepared by low temperature plasmas (LTP) were reviewed in this paper.Plasmas could be applied to prepare catalyst with good performance for CO2 reforming of CH4.Three processes, catalysts synthesized by thermal plasma (CSTP), catalyst modified by cold plasma (CMCP) and catalyst calcined and/or reduced by plasma (CCRP), were involving in different mechanism, respectively.CSTP was suitable for gasifying metal precursor to form ultra-fine powder due to its high energy density (more than 15J/ml) and high temperature (several thousand K).CMCP induced to higher dispersiorr and more crystal lacuna on catalyst surface according to three steps, the bombardment of charged particles, the irradiation of ultraviolet radiation, and the action of plasma sheath.CCRP was carried on a novel atmospheric pressure discharge plasma jet (APDP).Benefiting from APDP proper plasma temperature and high hydrogen atom density, operation time of catalyst calcined and reduced by APDP jet was less than 10 minutes, which avoided the conglomeration of Ni particles caused by high-temperature and long-time thermal treatment.This method could be extended to the catalyst preparation for other reaction system.
