The crystallization and corrosion behavior of A1-Ce-Tm (Tm =Fe, Co, Ni and Cu)amorphous alloys were studied.The alloys show two crystallization steps: amorphous → α-Al +Al-Ce nanocrystals → Al-Tm (or Al-Ce-Tm) and Ce-Tm nanoerystals.Al-Ce-Fe and Al-Ce-Ni alloys exhibit good protection behavior because of the passivation of AlFe3 and AlCeNi nanocrystals.Al-Ce-Co and Al-Ce-Cu alloys exhibit poor corrosion resistance because of the active dissolution of AlCo and AlCu2 nanocrystals.It has been demonstrated that Al-Ce-Fe and Al-Ce-Ni amorphous alloys are good candidate protective coatings even after expose at temperature up to 420 and 300 ℃,respectively.
