24-Epibrassinolide(EBL)confer tolerance to salt and aluminium stress individually,but its ameliorative role in combination of salt and aluminium stress is poorly understood.Therefore,a study was conducted to unravel the effects of EBL on the proline metabolism and how does it modulate the activities of P5CS activity,-OAT,ProDH,antioxidant system in wheat plants grown under combined stress of salt and aluminium.The results of the study revealed that application of EBL alone significantly increased the ProDH and P5CS activity,proline content,net photosynthetic rate and various enzymes of antioxidant system whereas,these parameters were further accelerated in the plants exposed to combined stress of salt and aluminium followed by EBL treatment.Moreover,the loss of net photosynthetic rate caused by combination of salt and aluminium stress were fully restored in the presence of EBL.
