Quenching-Partitioning ( Q-P) and Quenching-Partitioning-Tempering ( Q-P-T) process have received extensive attention and demonstrated a huge potential of application.Several Q-P-T processes were successfully applied to a Mn-Si-Cr alloyed steel 40Mn2Si2Cr in this work.The results showed that as-treated steel has a good combination of high strength and adequate ductility under the absence of expensive alloy elements ( e.g.Ni,Mo and Nb et al.).Its tensile strength,elongation as well as product of strength and elongation ( PSE) can reach over 1650MPa,~ 20% and over 33.0GPa% respectively.It is showed that carbide-free bainite ( CFB) formed in quenching step of Q-P-T treatment is benificial to the enhancement of overall properties.Most importantly,partitioning time can be significantly prolonged from conventional < 60s to 60 minutes ( or even longer) in Q-P-T process,which may bring a new group of advanced high-strength steels ( AHSS).
