Synthesis and of AMoO4 (A=Mn, Co) nanorods as high-performance pseudocapacitors

One-dimensional MnMoO4 and CoMoO4 nanorods have been prepared by a facile and environmental-friendly two-step processes including microwave-assisted hydrothermal method and sequentially thermal treatment at 300-500℃.For MnMoO4 nanorods,it was found that the calcination temperature has great influence on the morphologies and electrochemical properties.SEM results show that uniform MnMoO4 nanorods aggregated together with the increasing calcination temperature.The specific capacitance decreased with increasing calcination temperature.The MnMoO4 sample calcined at 300℃ and the CoMoO4 sample calcined at 350℃ can deliver a specific capacitance of 138 F g-1,155 F g-1 at 1 A g-1,degrading by only 7%and 9.8%after 1600 charge-discharge cycles at progressively increased current density,respectively.The results suggest their potential use as electrode materials for supercapacitors.
