  A novel concept has been yielded to fabricate composites possess both strong and tough characteristics.To fit the concept, nylon yarn has been braided to form a circular rope.Owing to the braid structure, the rope has good strength and toughness.As the rope has been made, we used the rope to weave a plain fabric to be a reinforced material.Afterward the nylon braided plain fabrics have been impregnated with epoxy resin to make the novel composites which have good strength and toughness.Three-point bending and impact properties of the composites are discussed in details in the current study.The results showed that the nylon braided yarn reinforced epoxy composites have a good bending strength, bending modulus and impact energy absorption.Moreover, the composites have high strength and low elongation during the test.
