Similar to additional cytogenetic aberrations in patients with newly diagnosed chronic myelogenous leukemia-chronic phase (CML-CP),the clinical significance of chromosome abnormalities in patients with CML in remission after treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) remains to be elucidated.We reviewed 24 cases of CML in cytogenetic remission with chromosome abnormalities after treatment with TKIs,which were evaluated at Genoptix Medical Laboratory from 1996 to 2014.Of these cases,18 patients had a sole chromosome abnormality 10 patients (6 menand 4 women with a median age of 54.2 years) had trisomy 8;6 patients (4 men and 2 women witha median age of 67.2 years) showed 20q-;and 2 patients (2 men with a median age of 41 years)had -7/7q.
