  The present paper extends the previous study[1]which analyzed a one-dimensional thermo-elasto-dynamic problem of an infinite film made of functionally graded material (FGM) subjected to thermal shock to be valid for the case of a functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM) film.It is assumed that one surface of the infinite FGPM film is subjected to thermal shock and the other surface is kept at a reference temperature.For the elastic and electric fields,both surfaces of the film are taken to be free of both stress and electric charge.Material properties are considered to exponentially vary along the axial direction.The analytical solution which satisfies the equations of heat conduction,motion,and electrodynamics as well as the boundary conditions for the thermal,elastic,and electric fields of the FGPM film is obtained.
