Supercapacitors (SC), clean electrochemical energy storage systems, have higher power density and excellent cycling stability, but relatively low energy density compared to Li-ion batteries.Increasing the cell voltage was crucial to the increase of the energy density of SCs, since the latter increased two orders of magnitude with the former.
