　　Objective:To retrospectively review the clinical experience of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for respiratory support in the patient with respiratory failure because of severe pneumonia.Methods:Veno-Arterial (V-A) ECMO with a medtronic carmeda coated system was used in the patient with severe respiratory failure because of severe pneumonia after neoplasty for rupture of rectum.
