  [Objective]Escherichia coli life abounds on surfaces in both natural and industrial environments,one of which is the food industry,a pathway leading to cross contamination on food.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of Escherichia coli form biofilm on food processing surfaces (polystyrene and glass) and the effect of Acid Eletrolytic Water (AEW) on biofilm removal on the surface of polystyrene and glass formed by Escherichia coli.[Methods]Fluorescence Microscope (FM) and Plate counting method were used to evaluate biofilm formation and the eradicate effect of AEW.[Results]FM showed that Escherichia coli can form compact biofilm on the surface of polystyrene and glass,and there is less fluorescence of biofilm treated by AEW than treated by DW,biofilm became thiner and more scattered after diped in AEW.Plate counting show that there are less live bacteria which treated by AEW.[Conclusion]AEW can not only used to clear up biofilm efficient,but also can kill Escherichia coli which living in biofilm on the surface of polystyrene and glass formed by Escherichia coli.This study provide a new method to clean up food processing tools.
