Carboxymethyl Starch(CMS) is branched polymer,in addition,it is a polyelectrolyte.The ionic strength of mobile phase can affect its behavior[1].Conventional SEC with RI detector is hard to get accurate molecule weight and structure information of CMS.Multi-Detector GPC/SEC System with refractive index detector,light scattering detector and viscometer is a powerful tool for characterization of this kind polymer.
