The metastasis and invasion of cervical squamous cell carcinoma is still an enigma.Here we examined the expression of vimentin, E-cadherin, and β-catenin in 104 cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissues and 79 nomal cervical tissues, and the relationships between the expression of these markers and specific clinicopathological features were analysed using quantitative immunohistochemistry.The high expression of vimentin and the decreased expression of E-cadherin and β-catenin were observed in 43 of 51 (84%) poor differentiation tumors, in 13 of 38 (34%) moderate differentiation tumors.
