The Endosperm of crop seeds represents 60% of the worlds food supply.The engineering of endosperm development was concerned with several aspects of endosperm biology.Development of tissue-specific promoters for endosperm of cereal grains is a key requisite for expression of foreign genes efficiently in crop genetic improvement.
