众所周知,中国早期现代化进程步履蹒跚、艰困重重,发展远不如人意。而在探讨其原因时,历来的目光大都集中在外来资本主义的侵略压迫和中国封建统治阶级的愚昧腐朽与保守落后,这些观点虽不为错,但并不完全。需要注意的是,中国近代社会环境以及民间传统力量等形成的障碍阻挠作用,同样是重要的因素之一,但以往的研究对这些方面的重视尚远远不够。实际上,这是一种更加广泛存在且表现形式多种多样并在各个领域中持久发挥作用的力量,在探讨近代中国早期现代化的障碍因素时,理应给予相当的重视。
As we all know, the process of early modernization in China is faltering, arduous and the development is far from satisfactory. In discussing the reasons for this, historically most of the attention has been focused on the invading oppression of alien capitalism and the stupid decay and backwardness of the feudal ruling class in China. Although these views are not wrong, they are not complete. What needs to be noticed is that the obstruction of the barriers formed by the social environment and the traditional folk forces in the modern China is also one of the important factors. However, the previous studies have paid much attention to these aspects. In fact, this is a force that is more widespread and diverse in its manifestation and exerts a lasting effect in all fields. When discussing the obstacles to the early modernization of modern China, it deserves considerable attention.
