With the rapid development of bioteehnology and genetic engineering,an increasing number of potential therapeutic proteins and peptides have been discovered. However, most protein molecules are easily degraded by proteases before they are delivered to the site of action, resulting in short halflife in vivo and multiple injections. In order to overcome these limitations, sustained and controlled release formulations based on natural macromolecules and polymers were developed, including liposomes and micro-particles.Until now, there are still big challenges to increase the encapsulation efficiency (EE),maintain the bioactivity of proteins and release the loaded proteins in a sustained and controlled manner.
