When the insulation plate and the pollution quantity remain to be constant, the flashover voltage is the highest. When the pollutant distribution decreases between the high voltage and the ground, it would become the lowest if the pollutant distribution is similar to that in real practice. The trend of the leakage current is opposite to that of the flashover voltage. The flashover voltage increases when the pollution length between the high voltage and the ground increases or the pollution width decreased as for the leakage current, it has the opposite trend.The experimental result is in good agreement with the theoretical one. When compared to the experimental result, the theoretical flashover voltage, Um, is lower. That because there is error exists when the pollution quantity is expressed by pollution thickness and its density.
