Cell sizes are correlated with endopolyploidy,in the sense that cells containing higher quantity of DNA appear larger.Cotton fibers undergo endoduplication and their cellular DNA content is increasing at the early stage of development.We found that global DNA methylation status is much higher in cotton fiber cells than in other types of cells.
