Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PIPAAm) is a well known temperature-responsive polymer, which are hydrophilic below the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and hydrophobic above the LCST.Thus, PIPAAm can be used as stationary phase in aqueous mobile phase chromatographic separation.We discussed two methods of grafting PIPAAm into the inner surface of capillary, and investigated the separation properties of the temperature responsive stationary phases.
