The aim of this presentation is to introduce a model access and benefit sharing (ABS) contract that helps to implement the Nagoya Protocol and builds upon the experience within WFCC on "legitimate exchange" practices amongst culture collections.The proposed contract has been widcly discussed with legal scholars and the metagenomics community within the marine microbiology project MICRO B3 (http://microb3.eu/).
