The propagation characteristics of circular Airy beam(CAB)in uniaxial crystal are investigated in details by relying on a suitable plane-wave angular spectrum representation of the beam.As an example,the propagation of a CAB in the lithium niobate along the optical axis is demonstrated.The beam loses its boundary cylindrical symmetry during propagation as a consequence of medium anisotropy,even though it propagates along the optical axis.The influence of anisotropy on the propagating beam becomes more and more evident with the increasing of propagation distance.Another main influential factor of propagation characteristics is the ratio of the extraordinary refractive index to the ordinary refractive index(ne/no).
