The gold nanoparticles doped sodium borosilicate glass was synthesized by combining sol-gel and atmosphere control heat treatment methods.The microstructure of gold nanoparticles in the glass was characterized by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD),transmittance electron microscopy(TEM)and high-resolution transmittance electron microscopy(HRTEM).Meanwhile,the linear and nonlinear optical properties of the glass were analyzed by UV/VIS spectrophotometry and femtosecond Z-scan technique.The results showed that the gold nanoparticles doped glass exhibited saturable absorption and self-focusing nonlinear refraction.
