The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc) has been used as an alternative to antimicrobial feed additives in ruminants for over 30 years.Its supplementation in animal diets has resulted in variable responses with some investigations reporting positive effects with increased milk yield and fat production in dairy cows while others denied these effects.
